2021 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships

2021 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships

USA CYCLING GRAN FONDO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
From the Gran Fondo National Series website. Please visit them and the USA Cycling website for updates and more details.

A USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship title, complete with a national championship jersey and medal, will be awarded to the winner in each age-group category at the annual USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship event, which in 2021 will be held as a part of the Gran Fondo Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina on July 18.

The 2021 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship event will be held at Gran Fondo Asheville. To compete in the National Championship category riders must qualify (see below). Riders do not need to qualify to participate in Gran Fondo Asheville, all normal Gran Fondo Asheville routes (Gran, Medio, Piccolo) are open to all riders to register and do not require qualification.  There is a separate start time for USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship participants, they will start 30 minutes prior to the Gran Fondo Asheville riders.

Riders can qualify to compete in the National Championship event a number of ways, including results and rankings in Qualification Events. Complete qualification criteria are shown below. The event director reserves the right to adjust the criteria to ensure maximum opportunities for qualified participants.

Cyclists do not need a USA Cycling membership to participate in the Gran Fondo National Series-produced events (including Gran Fondo Asheville), or to qualify for the 2021 USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships. To be entered in the USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships, however, a USA Cycling membership is required. A USA Cycling membership features valuable benefits for all cyclists, including Gran Fondo National Series riders.

Please note:

In addition to the one-day USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championship, at the end of the Colnago Gran Fondo National Series season, riders with the best three Gran Fondo finishes (including the National Championships and Series Partner Events) in their age groups will be crowned winners of the Gran Fondo National Series. View more information on the series competition.

Updates and Info

If you have any suggestions, please let Robert know. Try to be resonably specific if you can as it helps in the long run. Remember to update your links for the CCA Offcial website to carolinascycling.org. We have setup web forwarding from our old site address.

We are constantly looking to make improvements to this website, from how we manage information dislay to maintenance. Now that the CCA Annual meeting is complete and the base calendar set, we are building the events calendar with many new features. We have all events from that list added. Some of the event info is basic until either the promoter provides it to me (Robert) or I pull it from the USA Cycling website once you start the permit process there. We do ask that you information always include the name and date(s) of your event. For the maps integration, we ask that you include an accurate address to the staging site or parking area for your event(s). Also new, is the ability for us to add some details to your event listing. This should be in plain text format and be reasonable length (i.e. not all the info from your flyer) but maybe some good info that is not on your flyer.
